What We'll Do & When: Spring Camp

Here's our tentative schedule. Times may change, so please be flexible!

FRIDAY p.m.

  • 5:30 to 6;:30 p.m. --- Arrivals and Tent Set-Up ... Check in with, and present all required paperwork to, Cubmaster, then set up your tent

  • 6:30 to 8 p.m. -- Snacks, Free Time: Cracker Barrel/Kidcuterie: Cheese, meats, crackers, fruits, and veggies Outdoor Games with Flashlights/Headlamps: Night at the Museum, Ghosts in the Graveyard Informal Campfire: Roast marshmallows, eat S'Mores, sing songs (bring your voice and instruments!) and tell stories (preferably spooky!)

  • 9 p.m. -- Lights Out. Reture to tents for bedtime.

 

SATURDAY a.m.

  • 6:30 a.m. -- Breakfast Prep: Vittles Viscount and Adult Volunteers
    7:30  to 8:45 a.m. --- Breakfast: Tortilla, sausage, egg, cheese, beans, potatoes) warmed over a campfire

  • 9: a.m. -- Flag-Raising Ceremony ... Wolf Den

  • 9:15 to Noon -- Hike to Friendship Point

  • 11 a.m. to Noon -- Lunch Prep: Vittles Viscount and Adult Volunteers

SATURDAY p.m.

  • Noon to 1 p.m. -- Lunch: Hot dogs, mushrooms, and S’mores 

  • 1-4 p.m. FUN & GAMES: Gaga ball, challenge course, archery, BB, disc golf, ultimate frisbee, camp store, skit planning, soccer, Kickball, Super Capture the Flag Tag, whittling (3rd-5th grade)

  • Jam Session: Bring any instruments you have to play and sing simple songs. Kid musicians are welcome too.

  • 4-6 p.m. -- Possible Range Time: Archery and/or BB

  • 4:30 - 6 pm -- Dinner Prep: Vittles Viscount and Adult Volunteers

  • 6 p.m. -- Dinner: Legendary Phillippo Stone Soup, pita bread

  • 7 p.m. -- Flag Ceremony: Webelo Den & Arrow of Light Patrol (TCWPJoA II) lower colors

  • 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. -- Campfire Program: Skits, Jokes, Songs, Good Deed Awards, Camp Patches

  • 8:15 - 9:15 pm -- Open Program: Board Games, Card Games, etc.

  • 9:30 p.m. -- Lights Out: Retire to bunks for bedtime

SUNDAY a.m.

  • 6:30 to 7 a.m. -- Cleanup: All Scouts’ personal gear and tent should be cleaned before eating breakfast

  • 7 to 8 a.m. -- Breakfast: Grab, Rout, and Howl – Muffins, croissants, fresh hand fruit, hot cocoa, coffee

  • 8 to 8:45 a.m. -- Cleanup: Everyone helps clean the cabin, latrines, campground, tables, and fire area

  • 9 a.m. -- Check out: Campmaster will dismiss the pack when the cabin and campground is clean. Embark from camp and arrive safely at home

What to pack

  • Completed mandatory health and shooting-sports forms (links at bottom of column 2 on this page)

  • A Tent & Warm Sleeping Bags --  Night-time temps can get pretty chilly, so be sure to bring your warmest sleeping bag and additional blankets, to "Be Prepared."

  • A name-labeled, reusable water bottle

  • Toothbrush, toothpaste

  • Personal medications

  • Cub Scout Uniform Shirt (Class A) to wear to flag ceremonies; leave neckerchief and slide at home

  • Pack-1 T-shirt (Class B) for outdoor play

  • Warm clothes, gloves and a beanie/stocking cap -- Dress in layers; prepare for weather that is colder and wetter than forecasted (Be Prepared!). It can often feel especially cold when waiting your turn at the shooting ranges.

  • Rain Coat/Suit & Hoodie -- We will be outdoors the entire weekend, rain or shine

  • Boots or shoes suitable for hiking (We will hike in den groups to every activity; for the youngest kids, the distances can often feel long)

  • Head Lamp/Light or Flashlight with a wrist lanyard

  • Pocket knife (ONLY grade 3-5 Scouts who have already earned their Whittlin' Chip cards, OR will be earning it at Camp)

  • Books, comics, etc. for reading in your tent during quiet time

  • Card games, board games, role-playing games

  • Adults may bring cell phones


What NOT to pack

  • DO NOT bring electronic devices and games 

  • DO NOT bring extra food (we have plenty!)

  • The camp provides BB guns and bows for the shooting ranges. If you choose to bring your own, they must be checked in with, and stored with, the Campmaster, immediately upon your arrival at Camp (even before proceeding to our campsite)

General Information

  • Arrive no earlier than 5:30 p.m. Friday. Check-out at 9 a.m. Sunday.

  • If you will not be there the full time, please specify when registering, so this can be taken into consideration for meal planning. Multiple Camp Packages are available, at pro-rated prices -- Click HERE to learn more

  • Pack 1 Scouts may invite non-Scout siblings and friends.

  • Meals and dishes/cutlery will be provided, but parents/guardians will be expected to help with cooking/serving and dishes/cleaning.

  • Scouts should arrive at, and leave from, camp in their Scout uniforms, but you can leave neckerchiefs and slides at home, so they don't get lost.

  • Toliet paper is provided by the camp, but it's never a bad idea to bring a back-up roll from home, just in case. Be Prepared!
     

Required Paperwork:

  • Parents of Scouts who are not coming themselves must complete a permission slip, available below. Please fill it out completely and make sure that it is given to the adult driving your Scout to Camp. (Not required for Scouts whose parents are attending.)

  • You must complete a Health Form and bring it with you to camp. Health forms are valid for one year and available at: Health Form (Short Term Medical Record)

  • All Scouts must complete a Shooting Sports permission slip in order to shoot on the archery and BB-gun ranges. Shooting Sports forms are valid for one year. Forms are attached below or available at the link below:

  • If you already filled out and turned in Health and Shooting Sports paperwork for your child at a Pack 1 camp earlier this year, you do not have to fill out those forms again for the April 22-24 Spring Camp . That paperwork is valid for one year.
